We need to talk about what just happened on the Game of Thrones final.

The women of Game of Thrones were once seen as victims. Now, they are conquerors.

The final episode of Game of Thrones, season six, has aired, and it contained a few plot twists we never saw coming.

The Winds of Winter served up a few grisly deaths (some that had us cheering, to be honest) but it ended with the key female characters firmly placed in the prime positions of power.

Game of Thrones full recap. Rosie Waterland, Laura Brodnik and Kahla Preston discuss the shocking fan theories that were proven true, the shows most surprising death and where our favourite characters are going next.

Cersei is now the Queen, and she looked pretty happy as she settled herself on that iconic Iron Throne. The woman went through hell and back to get there, and the pain, grief and triumphant she experienced practically radiated from her face during that moment of victory.

Daenerys has finally started the journey we’ve all been waiting for her to embark on, having set sail for Westeros with an army (and dragons) by her side.

In one of the episodes more shocking, and satisfying twists, Arya Stark exacted brutal revenge against the Frey family for her mother and brother’s murder at the Red Wedding.

The Game of Thrones world is now in the hands of the ladies, and we couldn’t be happier.
