First the penis jacket, now the nipple dress…

Sometimes a screen test can make the world of difference.

This is the lesson Gorgi Coghlan learned last night when the top she was wearing – rather than the news she was reading – became the focus of everyone’s attention.

The Project host appeared on the show in a dress with a tight, skin-coloured top — fooling some into thinking she was topless at first glance.

Coghlan and The Project Team did not realise the awkward mistake until they checked social media during the show.

In response to the Twitter furore, fellow host Peter Helliar broke the news to Gorgi on air and joked about the temperature in the Channel Ten studio.

“People are questioning the air conditioning in the studio,” he hinted, before an embarrassed Gorgi tried to defend the wardrobe choice.

And some of the tweets… Were kind of creepy.

But of course, like the true professional she is, Coghlan laughed it off.

“I’m so sorry, it actually isn’t, it’s just the seams, there’s heaps of buffering there and heaps of stuff there but I apologise,” she said.

“I do apologise if I have offended you.”

Coghlan strategically raised a piece of paper in front of her chest to remind people where they should be focused — on her news reading.

This is the second time this year female presenters on Channel Ten have been targeted for their clothing.

In March, Natarsha Belling wore a Scanlan and Theodore jacket with a penis-shaped neckline.

Belling wore the green jacket with penis neckline on a Sunday episode of Weekend News, before the website UNILAD picked up the story and sent the image international.

It turns out more than one Australian TV host had this jacket, with Lisa Wilkinson on Channel Nine’s Today Show, and ABC news reader Virginia Trioli both wearing the designer item.
