Google has changed its logo. We will get through this.

You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone…

Change is scary. Change is unfamiliar. Change is uncertain. People don’t like change. And this week saw one of the most significant changes in human history.

Google changed its logo.

Google changed its logo.

This is a logo that people have been looking at every day since 1999, and the surprise change this week has given people a lot of feelings. A LOT of feelings.

Here’s what’s causing all the commotion:

WHAT IS THIS? HOW COULD THEY HAVE DONE THIS TO US WITHOUT WARNING? We didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye. One day the old logo was just… gone. A logo we’ve probably looked at more than some loved ones’ faces. A logo that was there for us whenever we needed the answers to life’s important questions, like, “Does Maccas breakfast finish at 10:30 or 11:00?” Or, “Why did men evolve with nipples?”

That familiar logo that felt like home for so long is gone. Gone. And we need to accept that it’s never coming back. This is our reality now:

We’ll get through this together.
