Over the weekend, Noel Pauley and her husband Shane got a little bit creative on their date night.
The couple from the US headed to their local op shop with $10 each to buy an entire outfit for the other person – and the results were hilariously sweet.
“Tonight’s date night was hysterical,” Pauley wrote in a Facebook post which has since gone viral.
“We had $10 each in Goodwill to buy each other an outfit that had to be worn out,” she wrote. “Once we were out we had to act like it was completely normal.”
Pauley goes on to explain they also made up fake names to go along with their outfits, and pretended everything was normal as they took on their new faux identities all night.
“We now challenge all of you to take a #goodwilldatenight and have a blast with your person!!! Love, Roger and Ethel,” Pauley signed off her post.
In a follow up blog post, Pauley explained the couple “try very hard to be intentional with date nights”.
“We have a baby girl and it is so easy to get wrapped up in her and her cuteness,” she wrote. “So, in an effort to keep our marriage first, we try to go on a date night one night a week. And we try to make them fun!”
