If you’ve never been able to master curls with a hair straightener, we have some very, very good news.
ghd, the brand responsible for making our frizzy and wild hair straight and manageable have just released their first ever range of curling irons.
And we just have one question: What took you guys so long?
The four-product range –there’s two wands and two tongs – was created in response to their customer research, which revealed women wanted a curling tool that allows them to easily create long-lasting curls. (Well, duh.)
The tools were developed by ghd’s team of scientists at its Cambridge based Research and Development facility, which we imagine is just like the Q Division in the James Bond movies, only with less weapons and more hair.
Like any ghd product, the heat up time and damage to the hair shaft is minimal – according to the brand, fine hair only needs approximately five seconds on the barrel, while coarser hair requires up to eight seconds.
If this news makes you immediately want to get down to your salon and snap one up, here’s some information to help you decide which one you need:
A32mmlarge barrel with spring activated lever gives volume at the roots and creates big, bouncy, beautiful curls.
A 26mm medium barrel with spring activated lever forms consistent curls for classic style and volume.
A tapered conical barrel creates natural looking curls and deep waves for a beautiful beachy style.
The oval shaped wand creates edgy, deep, shimmering waves and glamorous movement.
And, here’s some curly haired inspiration to get you really excited.
