Cast your mind way, way back to… well, October 28.

‘Twas the night that stopped a nation, and broke more than a few hearts in the process.

We are referring, of course, to the nightThe Bachelorette‘s Georgia Love was forced to choose, once and for all, between suitors Lee Elliot and Matty “J” Johnson.

While Aussie viewers were quick to jump on Team Lee or Team Matty J, one thing was clear: we were all Team Georgia Love.

WhenMamamiacaught up with the TV reporter-turned-reality star at Wednesday’s AACTA Awards, we had to ask the question: did the level of support she received from the audience, in particular female viewers, come as a shock?

“The nature of this kind of show and just putting yourself out there in the public eye is that of course you’re going to have people that like you and people who don’t, people who agree with you and people who don’t,” Georgia replied.

“The support I had throughout the show and afterwards has been so overwhelming.”

Georgia’s mix of wit and warmth — not to mention her tendency to let her bachelors know when they were bahving badly — won her plenty of fans during the show’s run. (Post continues after gallery.)

That support only swelled in the days after the finale aired, when the star shared the heartbreaking news of her mother Belinda’s death from pancreatic cancer.

“I don’t know what I’ve done right to make people be so supportive, but I’m so so thankful because it’s been wonderful,” Georgia toldMamamia.

If you’re reading this, Georgia, here’s the very likely answer: you’ve simply been your delightful self.
