Florence and The Machine's beautiful serenade for terminally ill teen.

In an industry dominated by headline-baiting divas, we should all be thankful that musicians like Florence Welch exist.

Touched by the story of a bed-bound terminally ill teen too sick to attend her concert, the Florence and The Machine singer paid a surprise visit to the fan’s Austin hospice.

Christopher House nurse Christie Kremer said the touching bedside concert brought joy, love and life to a usually sombre place.

“Florence walked around the corner to the patient’s room — stuffed to the gills with teen friends — and there were shrieks and squeals and so much joyous music and singing and tears,” she wrote on Facebook, “tears of grief and joy and hope and love and utter devastation, and somehow simple kindness made everything better.”
