When Jenn texted she was going to be late for work, her boss had the best response.

Boop.

We’ve all had those days when we’ve struggled to leave the house because our lil’ doggos were just looking too damn cute.

Jenn, a hooman from the US, had one of those days recently.

Realising she was going to be late for work, Jenn texted her boss and said: “Hey, I’m going to be late for work by a few minutes”.

Her boss immediately messaged her back, asking whether everything was OK because Jenn was always at least 10-15 minutes early.

Jenn replied, “Yes. My dog was sleeping and looked really cute. I spent some time taking pictures of him instead of getting ready”.

She also sent her boss a photo of said “really cute” dog and he looks like a very good boy indeed.

Sorry to all the parents of fur babies, but they’re just animals. The Mamamia Out Loud team discuss.  Post continues.

“Look at that sweet boy!” her boss replied. “Take your time. I’ll have Miller watch your phones until you get in.”

“Also, Bark in the Park is coming up next month. How about I get you two tickets so you can take the little guy to the game?”

The boss then posted the exchange online, explaining they were just trying to be a good boss.

“This lady has been with the company for about eight years,” the boss explained. “In my time, she has never been late, called out etc.”

“She’s also a very sweet older lady that the guys in the office call ‘Mom’.

“Jenn also calls herself ‘Mom’ in company emails etc. She fully embraces the name and has done so since her last child left for college almost five years ago.”

The internet, of course, loved the boss’s response and wanted to know if they were hiring.

“Can I work for you? I have cute dogs and am punctual,” one person commented.

“Damn. I wish I worked with you. That’s very sweet of you,” added someone else.

“My mom was ‘mom’ at her last job, she loves it, some people just fit into that role,” another person commented.
