Thought you’d seen it all when it comes to pimple popping? Think again.
After examining what to anyone else would look like an innocent bump under the skin, Dr Lee quickly identifies it as either a cyst or blackhead.
“It’s like a little disc under there, like a coin or something,” she says.
While most blackheads can usually be treated with a little helping hand from the right tools, this one requires the big guns. Watch the mastery unfold in this shudder-inducing footage. (Post continues after video. Warning: this video shows a small surgery.)
After making a tiny incision into the skin, Dr Lee slowly cuts away at the carefully marked area.
When the cut is big enough to see underneath the skin, she gently squeezes the disk to try and get a better look when a bean-shaped object the size of a small pebble is finally freed from her face.
The patient is promptly stitched back up with care taken to place the stitches on the natural wrinkle lines around her mouth.
However, the grossest part is yet to come.
Dr Lee then CUTS INTO THE PEBBLE to see exactly what it was. (Post continues after gallery.)
"It's actually quite hard and it feels pretty firm. It's a blackhead that just got trapped under there and never made it to the surface," she says.
We'll never complain about our tiny blackheads again.
