It's the pinnacle of awards season: Oscar Sunday (well, Monday for us in Australia). The undisputed heavyweight champion of the awards circuit. With so much hype in the show's leadup, this is Hollywood's night of all nights.

The 98th Annual Academy Awards have taken over the Dolby Theatre and this year's ballot is a total battlefield: Ryan Coogler's Sinners is currently the film to beat with a mountain of history-making nominations, though the chaotic drama of Marty Supreme and the epic One Battle After Another are breathing down its neck.

Back for a second consecutive year at the helm is the master of self-deprecation himself, Conan O'Brien. After his 2025 performance proved he was the perfect fit for the chaos of live TV, Conan is back with a sharper monologue and an even longer list of targets.

Here are all the celebs he dragged at the 2026 Oscars.

Timothée Chalamet.

Perhaps the most highly-anticipated joke of the entire night, O'Brien took aim at Timothée Chalamet's recent comments about opera and ballet that sent the internet into a tizzy. 

"Security is extremely tight tonight. I've just got to mention that. I'm told there are concerns about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities," he joked. "They're just mad you left out jazz."

Ryan Coogler.

In a hilarious move, O'Brien used Sinner's director, Ryan Coogler's own humble reputation, as a launching pad to roast the rest of the high-strung audience.

"Director Ryan Coogler said he declined to become a voting member of the Academy because he doesn't like judging his fellow artists' work," O'Brien noted. 

"Yeah, but the rest of you pricks seem to love it."

Rose Byrne.

O'Brien didn't mind getting a little personal with his former castmate.

"My co-star, Rose Byrne, is nominated for Best Actress in If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You. It's hard to act in a scene with someone you've always had a massive crush on, but Rose, you did a fantastic job. Admirable restraint," he said. 

Sean Penn.

Never one to avoid a gritty detail, O'Brien also brought up Sean Penn's performance in the Paul Thomas Anderson epic.

"Best Supporting Actor nominee, Sean Penn, of course, got an erection at gunpoint. And then Paul Thomas Anderson said, 'Hey, let's put that in the film.'"

Michael B. Jordan.

O'Brien poked fun at the sheer abundance of Michael B. Jordan in Coogler's latest hit and pulled a skit that, I think, we all appreciated. 

"Michael B. Jordan, you were incredible playing identical twin brothers Smoke and Stack in Sinners. Just amazing. I cannot get enough of this man. It was a special treat," he quipped. 

"In fact, every seat filler at tonight's Oscars will be Michael B. Jordan. Check it out."

The camera panned across the star-studded front rows to reveal that every single seat filler in the building was magically Michael B. Jordan. Iconic. 

Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leonardo DiCaprio is used to being the butt of the joke, but O'Brien took a more "meta" approach to the legendary actor by creating a new meme on the spot. 

"Leonardo DiCaprio is here, sir. Good to see you." 

"He's the star of so many movies and the king of memes. He's the king of memes, this guy! Let's make a new meme with Leo right now: 'That feeling when you didn't agree to this.'"

The F1 movie. 

Even the high-octane blockbusters weren't safe from a little snark.

"F1, I loved. A popcorn movie — it was great. F1 is up for Best Picture. It's the story of a race car driver who finally wins after deciding to go faster. It did so well, they're already making a sequel: CAPSLOCK."
