Images of this little girl posing as female icons have struck a chord across the world.

Scout Larson is a three year old with an important message about women’s strength.

The young American is dressing up as iconic women in order to reassure herself and others of female power.

Imitating their body language, looks and personalities through careful photography, Scout has posed as such figures as: Frida Kahlo, Ellen Degeneres, Malala Yousafzai, Meryl Streep and Emma Watson.

Scout’s mother, Ashley, said the project began as a way to help her young daughter deal with the news her grandmother had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“When Nonnie’s hair started to fall out, Scout got very concerned and I wanted to put both of our minds at ease. I needed to teach her and remind myself that women are fighters,” Ashley wrote for BoredPanda.

The mother and daughter duo created dozens of looks over several months of planning, editing and shooting.

The three year old has even posed with her grandmother to share how she is now cancer-free.

Ashley hopes to create a book with all the finished images for Scout and ‘Nonnie’ to look back upon.
