Child star with the voice of an angel Charlotte Church opens up about her miscarriage.

Welsh singer Charlotte Church and her boyfriend Jonathon Powell have lost their unborn baby.

The 31-year-old announced the news on Twitter on Monday night, the tweet read: “Charlotte and Jonny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family.”

In a follow up tweet, Church asked for “peace” as the family grieves their loss.

Charlotte’s fans were quick to reach out with messages of support, with one person tweeting: “Oh no. I’m so sorry Charlotte and Jonny. Sending all my love to you both. Stay strong in your family’s loving embrace.”

“Been there myself, awful times – stay strong and lean on each other,” added another.

“Sending you much love during this time. I know all too well how it feels. Be kind to yourselves.”

Church announced her pregnancy on stage at Birmingham Pride at the end of May, the couple have been together for seven years.

The singer is already mum to Ruby, 9, and Dexter, 8, from her previous relationship with Gavin Henson.
