We don’t know what to believe any more.
We’ve seen ducks that might also be bunnies, red squares that might be green and of course, forever seared into our brains, is the all important question of our generation: White and gold or blue and black?
Today, we bring you another internet mystery to
mess with entertain you.
Is this cat going upstairs or downstairs? No seriously, tell us. Because we can’t figure it out and we’re pretty much foetal over it.
The image was posted by 9Gag, asking readers what they thought. And it started fights.
Reasonable folks say it’s all a matter of perspective.
That hasn’t stopped the arguments though.
According to The Business Insider, people who are on Team Down say that the stairs are actually mosaic tiles with a wooden lip, and the bright patch in the upper centre of the image is light from downstairs.
But The Uppers say you can clearly see a lip at the edge of the stair which would be on the outer side of the step, meaning Puss in Boots is heading skywards.
Other people are simply getting way too caught up in cat-science for us to understand what they’re talking about.
“The cat is going up, the tail is used to balance the body of the cat and in this case the tail is elevated upwards so that when the cat uses its rear legs to push up it pushes parallel to the line on which gravity is working on the tail to stabilise itself” one commenter explained.
“Look at the cat’s tail — it’s facing upwards, or the opposite of the direction it’s moving in. If the cat were to go up the stairs, it’s tail would point downwards,” said another.
Sure guys. Whateeeeever you say.
Well which is it? Is the cat going up or down the stairs?
