We're obsessed with Carrie Bickmore's all-rounder dress on The Project last night.

With summer just weeks away, the invites on Facebook (or stuck on the fridge if you’re still so inclined) for birthdays, weddings and race days are stacking up.

For some, the season of endless events may have already started – which means you’ve probably already had at least three “What on EARTH am I meant to wear?” moments of panic.

Luckily Carrie Bickmore has come to the rescue.

On The Project last night, the host was wearing a dress that instantly had us sitting up from our slumped-on-the-sofa evening position.

A bold cobalt blue colour with a halterneck top, it's the all-rounder events dress your summer wardrobe is crying out for.

Available from Australian label Sheike for $159.95, the slim fitted midi dress has a halter top, open back, full skirt perfect for dramatic spins and two splits at the front to channel a little Angelina Jolie.

Cinched at the waist and flowing out at the bottom, it creates a flattering silhouette that strikes the perfect balance between appropriate with a little bit of ~sexy~.

From weddings to the races to Christmas parties, it's really a dress for all occasions.

The BAM! colour, the the halterneck top and the skirt detailing make it just as easy to dress up for a more formal occasion as it is to add some sandals for a casual event.

Even better, the dress is fully lined and has stretch meaning you can enjoy the six servings of potato salad with ease. (Post continues after gallery.)

Basically it's a winner.

We can see the cost per wear of this dress making it a very worthwhile purchase.
