The tobacco tycoon known as ‘The Candyman’ hosted his annual bash of debauchery on the Gold Coast yesterday, and it was as over-the-top as we’ve come to expect.

Multimillionaire Travers Beynon – the self-proclaimed party king – held the bizarre pool party at his Playboy-style home, referred to as ‘The Candyshop Mansion’.

This year’s theme was Seven Deadly Sins, and theGold Coast Bulletinhas reported the celebration featured rooms dedicated to the vices — pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth.

Guests were invited to dress-up, with some interesting costumes among those attending. Of course, for women, as little clothing as possible was encouraged.

The decadent party included a DJ, fireworks, bikini-clad models and saw The Candyman make his grand entrance on a throne atop a Mad Max-style tank.

According to the Daily Mail, Mr Beynon, who has a wife and 10 “girlfriends”, invited guests through a promotion at his tobacco stores and also put a call out for ‘sexy bikini models’ to attend.

Given that post went out on Friday, the event might not be as popular as The Candyman would have us believe.

You mean very few people want to participate in this? We can’t imagine why.

Though it does seem to be popular with attendees, with a number of Instagram users labelling it the “best party of the year”.

Imogen Anthony, girlfriend of Kyle Sandilands, was rumoured to be in attendance, although it’s believed Kyle and his radio co-host Jackie O declined their invitations.

Right. We think this party is one we’re happy to have missed out on.
