Break-ups are rough, especially when you’re not the one doing the breaking up.

You’ll be chugging along, feeling quietly smug that somebody likes you and then BOOM, that same somebody will pull the proverbial romance rug right out from under your complacent little feet.

It’s the surprise that really stings which, let’s be honest, this jerk-and-a-half clearly knew when he “surprised” his girlfriend with what will forthwith be known as The Most Brutal Break Up Of All Time.

It started with a text.

“I’ve got a surprise [sparkle heart emoji],” JAAH wrote to his soon to be ex-girlfriend.

“Look outside your house.”

What was outside the house was a bouquet of flowers, which STBEX was clearly initially pretty over the moon about.

And then she found the note.

The note left by JAAH read as follows:

“We were never meant to be, there is no way you would ever be my forever.

“You’re a bit of a [expletive beginning with ‘c’] and I hope you find someone who can love you for it.

“Don’t try to message me because your number is blocked.”

A few Twitter users questioned the sheer brutality of the whole thing, but apparently “there were reasons”.

Oh and there was a PS on the note. It read: “You were a sh*t shag.”
