Brad Pitt responds to suggestions he was “getting verbally abusive and physical” with his children.

As rumours continue to swirl, Brad Pitt has denied an incident of alleged child abuse was the final trigger for his split from wife Angelina Jolie.

Jolie filed for divorce after 2 years of marriage, and a 12 year relationship, citing “irreconcilable differences”, which some have speculated stem from Pitt’s treatment of the couple’s six children.

According to TMZ, the 52-year-old was seen getting “verbally and physically” abusive with his children on a private flight last Wednesday, with one eye witness claiming he was “out of control” on the tarmac when he plane eventually landed in Minnesota.

Another anonymous “source” told the celebrity news site Pitt had flat out denied the reports.

“[Pitt] takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” they said.

“It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

The matter was apparently passed to the LAPD after yet another anonymous source tipped off the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services, but neither have publicly confirmed the claims.

“LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse against Brad Pitt,” a police spokesperson told People.

“The law does not allow us to confirm or deny the subjects or content of our investigations,” children’s services spokesperson Armand Montiel told USA TODAY.

TMZ has since updated their story to say the matter had been passed to the FBI because it occurred in the air.
