6-year-old boy asked to write letter to Santa at school. Is having absolutely none of it.

Around this time every year, boys and girls all over the world are more than happy to put pen to paper and write a detailed list of the things they want for Christmas.

The notes are usually cleverly and thoughtfully crafted, before they are sealed and popped in the post to (hopefully) make it to The North Pole in time for Christmas Eve.

This year, even Prince George wrote old Saint Nick a note.

But when one six-year-old boy in the US was asked to write a letter to Santa at school, he was less than impressed.

So he decided to make his feelings known, and called out the big fat red man on all of his secrets and lies.

“Santa I’m only doing this for the class,” his letter, decorated with festive wreaths and… skulls… began.

“I know your notty list is emty. And your good list is emty.

“And your life is emty (sic).”

Not satisfied with the Grinch-like level of harshness in his letter already, the little boy continued.

"You don't know the trouble I've had in my life.

"Good bye. Love, I'm not telling you my name".

The boy's mother, US radio journlist Sarah McCammon, shared the hilarious note on Twitter which has now been shared more than 11,000 times.

She was also quick to clarify just what the "troubles" in her son's life were.

"PS - the "troubles" in his life? His brother. Don't call child services," she wrote.

It's still to be determined whether this boy will make Santa's (seemingly non-existent) naughty or nice list.

Here's hoping his Christmas cheer improves when Rudolph comes to visit.
