A young boy has been critical injured after reportedly falling off a carnival ride at Rye on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Ambulance Victoria said paramedics were called to the carnival shortly after 5:00pm, where they treated the boy for head and foot injuries.

The boy was then flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

It is not known how he fell.

WorkSafe Victoria said it was aware of the incident and was making inquiries.
