In distressing news for the Houston and Brown families, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, has been removed from life support and transferred to a hospice.

The daughter of the late Whitney Houston and rapper Bobby Brown has spent months in a coma in hospital after being found face down in a bathtub in her home in Atlanta, Georgia, in January.

The circumstances were hauntingly similar to those in the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub in February 2012.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been moved to hospice care.

Bobbi Kristina’s condition has worsened over that time, leading to the decision to remove her from hospital.

“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” a statement made by her aunt, Pat Houston, reads.

“As of today, she has been moved into hospice care.”

According to NBC, a lawsuit has been filed by Bobbi Kristina’s conservator against Nick Gordon.

Gordon was a kind of surrogate brother to Bobbi Kristina, but following her mother’s death, the pair became engaged.

Gordon “perpetuated the fraud that he had married Brown, though in fact he never did so,” the lawsuit alleges.

It claims he tried to control Bobbi Kristina and “limit with whom she could interact,” answered her phone, forced her to seek his permission to make appointments and “manipulated her bank relationship so that he could access her money.”

It also accuses him of physical and verbal violence against Bobbi Kristina. The day she was discovered in the bathtub, she’d suffered injuries to her face, including a knocked-out tooth.

The suit is seeking damages for the “life threatening bodily harm” she allegedly suffered at his hands.

“We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now,” the statement made by Pat Houston concluded.
