Are you comfortable? Ready to reflect on the week?  It’s been a hectic one, so much happening and so much to think about….

In what has become a weekly tradition on Mamamia we use this post to share our bests and worsts, no matter how trivial or how intense, how important or how irrelevant.

And not just that – you can use this post to reflect on, well anything, today let’s talk about our bests, our worsts and all the rest – or really whatever you want.

BEST: Election night – had a great time with friends, Julia GIllard (aka impersonator Amanda Bishop), and my laptop. Despite all the media coverage options, we had a huge traffic spike on Mamamia as people poured onto the site to share in the drama. For helping to create such an engaged, interested audience around this election, I have to thank Julie Cowdroy who has opened so many eyes – including mine – to politics to the point where I felt better informed this election than I ever have before.

WORST: I learned on ABC radio today that the flooding in Pakistan has now affected more people than the Haiti earthquake and Boxing Day Tsunami combined, yet relief is slow. It seems many people have charity fatigue. I was devastated by ABC journalist Sally Sara’s account of arriving to cover the floods and getting out of her vehicle to be rushed by severely dehydrated women carrying sick babies and children and begging her for help. The dirty water has made them sick and the only way to rehydrate is with more dirty water because NO AID has arrived……

The ABC is today encouraging Australians to donate to the Pakistan flood appeal, through Unicef. Please donate now at unicef.org.au or call them on either 1300 884 233 or 1300 134 071 or you can click here for more details on how to donate.

THE REST:  How is it possible that channel 7 can air footage of a sporting hero smoking ice and snorting cocaine at 8:40pm on commercial television? Hello Ben Cousins, so glad you’re getting your life together but dear lord……HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD? But it’s really Pakistan that’s on my mind today and this week…….

If you are new to this post  please feel free to join the conversation – no such thing as strangers on Mamamia.  We are all here to support, to encourage and to share….

In case you missed the Best & Worst frocks of the week (now posted on Mondays) you can check it out here.
