'I’m a South Asian woman who's blush-obsessed. I've found the 4 best blushes for my skin tone.'

Whether I’m glammed up or down, I never skip out on blush.

I’ve tried cream blushes, powder blushes and liquid blushes, I’ve experimented with different placements on my face, I’ve even substituted my contour for blush - IMO it actually suits tanned skin better.

Basically, I’m a little blush-obsessed.

Because of this, I’ve slowly banked my favourites that not only give me that effortless, flushed look but also work really well on my South Asian skin

Including the best liquid, cream and powder blush, here are the four I'm constantly fishing out of my makeup bag.

While you're here, watch horoscopes and self care. Story continues after video.

Powder: Bobbi Brown Blush in Sand Pink, $56.

This was the first blush I ever bought and it did not disappoint. In fact, this blush not only set the bar high for all future products but it also remains my number one powder blush today.

It’s the kind of blush that's super-blendable and buildable, and it's incredible on its own or layered on top of others.

For example, one of my favourite ways to apply it is to layer it on top of cream blush, drawing out those pink hues underneath to really make my cheeks pop.

I’m a huge fan of lightweight makeup and the powder blush is exactly that. It’s not heavy, and it wears well throughout the day so it doesn’t feel like it’s clogging your pores.

Liquid: MCo Beauty Cheek and Lip Tint in Rose Glow, $12.

For a pigmented blush with a tonne of shine, this tint is a goddamn treat. And at such an affordable price, a little goes a long way.

You can easily apply it with a brush or your fingers and watch it melt into your skin, leaving a dewy finish and flushed cheeks.

I love how glossy it leaves my cheeks and I’m yet to find a blush product that gives off the same effect.

Plus, it’s compact so you can carry it around in your handbag for cheek and lip touch-ups. Who doesn’t love a multi-use product?

Cream: Trinny London Lip2Cheek in Freddie, $49.

When I was first introduced to Trinny London’s Lip2Cheek products, I stopped using my other blush products for quite some time - it became the staple blush in my makeup routine for months and it's the one product I’ve received the most compliments on.

This is my favourite blush for the contoured blush look. With a creamy-based formula, it’s best applied with a big fluffy brush and swept across the cheekbones and temples.

It blends flawlessly into my foundation so it looks natural while contoured.

I’ve been working through the same pot of blush for what feels like a year now and I’m still yet to hit pan so if you’re looking for a long-lasting product, grab this.

Bonus blush: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Roomiest Rose, $41.

I’m obsessed with Cliniques Chubby Stick Lip Balms. And if you haven’t tried them yet, you need to, because not only are they great on your lips, but cheeks too!

For a dramatic cheek look, I mark a few dabs of the product onto my cheeks then blend with my finger or a brush.

The results are fab and since it’s a lip balm, it leaves a gorgeous glow as well.
