Every month, we round up the new (or new to us) beauty products the Mamamia team is loving sick.
But what about the ones we've emptied — and if we'd buy them again? Or the products we had high hopes for, but DNF (did not finish)?
Watch: We've officially found the best fake tan hack for lazy people! Post continues below.
In our Empties series, we'll be sharing thoughts on the skincare, makeup, haircare, bodycare and fragrance products we finished this month.
Let's get stuck in, starting with mine.
The Ordinary Rice Lipids + Ectoin Microemulsion, $22.30.

Would I repurchase? As you can see, this has already been repurchased. This creamy lotion has no business being such a good moisturiser. I have the driest skin on this earth, so you'd think such a lightweight texture wouldn't cut it for me, but no. My skin drinks this sh*t up morning and night.
Avène Tolerance Control Soothing Skin Recovery Cream, $47.99.

Would I repurchase? I should own shares in L'Oreal given how many tubes of this moisturiser I've been through. Face moisturisers are like cups of tea — we all like a specific formula (or milk to tea ratio) — and my skin loves this no-fluff, fragrance-free cream that's not too heavy, nor too light.
Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up Lip Butter in Red Velvet, $25.95.

Would I repurchase? Onto my third tube of this! Don't let the colour of the packaging scare you off; I've been reaching for this sheer apple red tinted lip balm most days for months. It has a jumbo doe-foot applicator that makes applying it a breeze. No funny taste or scent, either. Obsessed.
Now, onto the products my colleagues finished this month.
From You Beauty host, Kelly McCarren…
The Breakout Hack Spot Cream, $29.95.

Would Kelly repurchase? "My skin went through a few breakouts a while back, so I was hitting this like crazy, it's SO GOOD. Makes the pimple way less angry without drying the skin out."
Aeon Liquid Magic, $90.

Would Kelly repurchase? "I'm onto my fourth bottle of this facial oil, I use it to the last drop. My skin feels plump and juicy when I use it. It's 50mL for $90, and lasts for a long time. I reckon two to three months, depending on how much you use."
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Bath & Shower Gel, $28.

Would Kelly repurchase? "This is my favourite affordable fragrance, in a body wash. It was always going to disappear quickly. It's a super fresh scent and I love that it comes in a pump body wash version."
Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel, $37.

Would Kelly repurchase? "I didn't think I needed another brow gel, but since I bought this one on sale, I've been using it most days. It really is as good as people say it is. I don't like brow gels that make your brows look like you've put hairspray in them…. Or dandruff. This sets your brows without making them stick, so I can fill them in afterwards if I want."
AKT The Foaming Body Scrub, $89.

Would Kelly repurchase? "I've already repurchased. $70 for a body scrub is a lot, but it lasts you a long time if you use it once a week. The ratio of granules to liquid perfectly emulsifies into a foam that actually washes you, while still giving you that gritty scrub feeling. You don't need to use half the tub to get the job done, either. The packaging is really cool, and it smells incredible — the perfect mix of masculine and feminine."
From Executive Editor and You Beauty host, Leigh Campbell…
SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Masque Hydrating Facial Mask 60ml, $115.

Would Leigh repurchase? "Yes, because I will never live without it. I dug this out a few weeks ago to help with some irritation, and have been using it every couple of days since. I think it's probably one of the best value products. It's a mask that visibly reduce redness, calms and soothes the skin. You can use it for heaps of things: post-travel, if your skin is irritated and dry, post laser or any clinic treatment."
NOW Solutions Sweet Almond Oil, $47.76.

Would Leigh repurchase? "I bought a small bottle of this after Kelly recommended it, and I've already repurchased the big size three times. It can do pretty much everything (except change your light globes). I use a big slurp in the bath when I want to feel more hydrated and luxurious. It's excellent as a pre-shampoo scalp massage, as an oil cleanser, to sheer out your foundation (just add a drop), or as a regular body moisturiser."
From Lifestyle Social Producer, Zara Meier…
Milk Makeup Kush Big Hit Volumizing Mascara, $52.

Would Zara repurchase? "I have been wearing the original version of this mascara since 2019, so I'm probably on my 20th tube! I usually purchase the original formula, but this time I tried the Kush Big Hit Volumizing Mascara. Both formulas separate my lashes really well and make them look thicker without getting clumpy. I like that they add volume while still looking fairly natural!"
OUAI Fine To Medium Hair Treatment Masque, $69.

Would Zara repurchase? "Yes!! This has now become my go-to for reviving my hair. As someone who dyes their hair regularly, most masks don't give my hair the proper TLC it needs, but this one does! Repurchasing immediately."
From Brand Partnerships Executive, Megan Chia…
Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream, $19.20.

Would Megan repurchase? "I picked this up along my K-beauty journey and it has now become a staple in my routine! As a retinol newbie, I was hesitant about the dreaded purge and potential flakiness, but because of the gentle concentration, I didn't experience either. Instead, I wake up to plump, smooth skin each morning after using it."
From Branded Content Manager, Shell Webb…
Essano Hydration+ Toning Mist, $13.99.

Would Shell repurchase? "This is such a glowy toner for the cost. You don't need a drenching either for it to give you a dewy, hydrated base before serum, moisturiser and SPF steps. I use it at both ends of the day, it's lovely and nourishing post-shower, too. Would def recommend this."
From Senior Brand Partnerships Executive, Kelsey Harper…
Aveeno Skin Relief Repairing Balm, $23.

Would Kelsey repurchase? "Yes; see the photo above for proof of restocking! I keep one in my bag, one on my desk and one in my car because, as a dry skin sufferer (particularly my hands), I need to be moisturised at all times. This has transformed the texture of my hands and is also great for dry elbows, knees, honestly slap it on everything!"
From Mamamia's CEO, Nat Harvey…
Kotia Nourishing Hand & Nail Cream, $20.

Would Nat repurchase? "This Kotia hand cream is really lovely. It leaves your hands feeling really soft, and the texture is divine."
