Bachelor in Paradise's Apollo on why he whispered "I'm sorry" to Elora.

During his short time on Bachelor in Paradise, Apollo Jackson was involved in what can only be described as a fire stick twirlin’ love triangle.

He liked Simone, Simone liked him, and Elora wanted to kidnap him and keep him in a hole in her basement.

Anywho, at the final rose ceremony Apollo chose Simone and whispered “I’m sorry” to Elora.

Speaking to Mamamia on Tuesday, Apollo explained why he apologised to Elora.

“I had that one date with Elora and started to get to know a little bit about her, but I was already invested in getting to know Simone,” he explained.

“I wanted to do the respectful thing and be open and honest.”

Apollo explained after their date he spoke to Elora and told her he was only interested in Simone, but that moment wasn’t shown on TV.

“I had spoken to Elora about the fact I was pursuing Simone and I just wanted to be open and up front about it,” he said.

“I was aware of her feelings and as a human being I think she’s a really beautiful person. I was aware of her feelings and that’s why I said sorry.”

Simone also told Mamamia airing that moment would have made the whole fire twirlin’ love triangle seem a lot less dramatic.

“I think Apollo and Elora’s chat when they came back from the date, he told her he was pursuing things with me, I think that would’ve help a lot [had it been shown],” she said.

“He did sit her down and say that, and that didn’t get shown. [Not showing that] ruined things for us because the viewers thought he wasn’t sure who he wanted. But that wasn’t the case.”

Apparently the fire twirlin’ incident was also a lot more innocent than it was made out to be.

“When the fire twirling thing came out it was 100 per cent just fun. We knew it was one of the last nights in paradise and we just wanted to get out there and put on a bit of a show for the paradise fam,” Apollo explained.

Later that night Simone and Apollo made the decision to leave paradise and to try to make it as a couple in the outside world.

“We’re looking at these other couples and everyone is saying ‘I love you’ and making out and they’re just inseparable, and Simone and I were still getting to know each other,” Apollo explained.

“We just wanted to see what it would be like in the outside world, where we could take things at our own pace.”

Shortly after leaving paradise Apollo and Simone’s relationship came to an end.

“Unfortunately it didn’t work out,” he told Mamamia.

“There was nothing negative there. The long distance thing was really hard and nothing evolved romantically.

“Just aligning our schedules to catch up was so hard. We only got to see each other a few times and it just wasn’t working unfortunately.”

No word yet on whether Elora is planning to pursue Apollo in the outside world with her fire twirlin’ ways.
