Australian Open winner Angelique Kerber had many convinced that she possessed magic powers after taking out Serena Williams in the finals on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old has since confirmed these suspicions by fearlessly jumping into the notoriously murky Yarra River and emerging out completely unscathed the morning after her win.

According to Daily Mail, Kerber promised she’d swim in the River if she won the finals as former tennis player Jim Courier did in 1992 and 1993.

If there was ever a doubt that Kerber was worthy of our respect and admiration, jumping into the Yarra River has surely proven her bravery and incredible resilience.
Or, no-one told her about the pollution and general disgusting-ness that is our iconic River.
Either way, our hats are off to you, Kerber. You have now achieved the impossible twice.
