How Facebook convinced a little boy to wear his glasses

When Noah Fisher’s mum put his glasses on for the first time, he burst into tears.

“I finally got him to tell me while he was crying and he said people would laugh at him,” Lindsey Fisher recalls.

Lindsey was at a loss. How could she force him to wear them when he really didn’t want to?

So she turned to Facebook for help, setting up the Glasses for Noah page. She wanted to show Noah that lots of people wore glasses and it wasn’t a big deal. He wouldn’t stand out, he’d be just like so many others.

She wrote in the “About” section: “Our sweet 4-year old, Noah, just got glasses and is having a hard time adjusting. Let’s show him just how cool glasses really are!”

The response she received was overwhelming. The page now has over 55,000 ‘likes’ and has been inundated with photos of people wearing glasses and just how cool they can be. Now little Noah is happy to wear them.

“It was very humbling to see how the community took time out of their day to post a picture of themselves for a little boy that half of them don’t even know,” she told USA Today.

Check out some of the amazing photos that were posted for Noah. Send yours to info@themotherish.com and we'll add it to our gallery.
