In a 14-word tweet, Amanda Seyfried delivered the perfect message about breastfeeding.

Amanda Seyfried has eliminated the need for the breastfeeding vs formula argument in just one tweet.

On Wednesday, the Mean Girls star tweeted: “Breastfeeding is awesome. Formula is awesome. Feeding your baby is awesome. Not awesome? Judgement”.

New mum Seyfried also tweeted excepts from a 2016 Quartz article by writer Maureen Shaw.

In the article Shaw talks about how the sexualisation of women’s breasts, and the way they are used by the media to sell products like burgers, means even other women find public breastfeeding confronting.

“Today, breasts have become synonymous with sex in American culture. This means that while advertisements and billboards can expose women’s breasts, new mothers cannot,” Shaw writes.

Many of Seyfried’s fans tweeted back, agreeing with her message.

“My own doula said ‘Not feeding your baby breastmilk doesn’t make you a bad mother. Not feeding your baby at all makes you a bad mother,'” one person wrote.

“Yes!!! I’ve done all of the above (minus the judgment) & all my kids are happy & healthy. Stop the mommy shaming,” added another.

Seyfried and her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, welcomed their first child in March of this year.
