Thanks to our partner, THE ICONIC
As the temperature drops and the heater kicks into overdrive, I can practically hear my skin screaming, 'Help!'.
Being in the thick of winter calls for a check-in with our beauty routines to see if they're well-equipped for what the weather is going to throw at us. While you don't need to change up everything, there might be a few winter upgrades that could make all the difference. Plus, it's a great excuse to try some exciting new products!
Now, you might know THE ICONIC for its speedy delivery of your favourite fashion finds, but they're also a go-to hub for beauty. They've got your skincare shelf and makeup bag sorted with everything from everyday staples to trending skincare, makeup, fragrances, hair tools, and newly launched K-Beauty.
Scrolling through the app's curated range of the latest beauty drops is delightfully easy, and you can also heart your favourites to save them to your wishlist for easy reference.
What's even better is that there are plenty of affordable finds to help you nail your winter beauty routine. I've rounded up eight products that are on my winter beauty wishlist — and they're all under $50!
Let's get into it.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, $28.
We're starting strong with a winter (and to be honest, all year round) essential: hyaluronic acid. The Ordinary specialises in no-frills skincare — powerful formulas that mean serious business.
This serum helps your skin look plump and hydrated for that healthy-looking glow, thanks to its formula featuring five forms of hyaluronic acid. There are also ceramides packed in, plus pro-vitamin B5, so your skin barrier can breathe a sigh of relief.
Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask Bundle (4 pack), $37.50.
A cosy night in calls for a large hot chocolate, and a hydrating face mask to give my skin an extra boost. I feel like I need to try these Biodance masks, stat! K-Beauty is having a real moment, and you can see why — there are so many products with hardworking ingredients at affordable price points.
These masks from Biodance went a tad viral online for giving that gorgeous glassy skin finish. They're unique in that they're designed to be slept in, or left on for at least a few hours.
medicube AGE-R Glutathione Glow Serum, $36.

I've never met a medicube product I didn't like. And this product literally has "Glow Serum" in its name, so naturally, it caught my attention.
Lightweight yet nourishing, it's formulated to help reduce the appearance of dark spots and target the visible signs of premature ageing. The promise of skin that looks hydrated, smooth and supple? That's exactly the kind of low-effort skincare outcome I'm always hoping for, so this one's firmly on my radar.
MCo Beauty Highlight & Glow Beauty Wand - Pink Glow, $29.
When it gets a little dreary out, I find adding some colour into my wardrobe — and my makeup — helps to lighten the mood. A good blush is forever a staple, but for me it's even more important in winter.
The MCo Beauty Highlight and Glow Beauty Wand gets it. It delivers a gorgeous touch of pinky goodness to cheeks, and adds a dewy highlight that can be hard to attain in the chillier months. The applicator makes it super easy to apply, and the formula blends wonderfully. All for just 29 bucks. Score!
MAC MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick - Ruby Woo, $40.
In the same vein as a good blush, a bold lip helps make winter a little more fun. The second I swipe one on, I feel like a new person who can do anything, despite the tragically low temperature (once I've layered on a cosy sweater and a thick coat, of course).
This classic shade from MAC looks like it would absolutely fit the brief. It's a beautiful shade of red that suits almost every complexion, but it's also got a sneaky touch of coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter to help keep your pout from drying out.
Weleda Skin Food Body Lotion, $29.95.
Please, please, PLEASE don't forget about your body! Winter skin needs TLC, like lathering on a good body moisturiser regularly.
This one from Weleda looks like it would do the trick! Shea butter, vitamin E, squalane and more come together to help combat winter skin dryness. This formula is meant to glide onto skin like a dream, and comes in a handy pump bottle.
TYPEBEA R1 Pre-Wash Damage Repair Mask, $50.
I also try to give my hair a little extra attention during the cooler months. All that heat styling, hot showers and sitting under the office air vent can really take a toll.
A hair mask can be a great addition to your routine, and this one from TYPEBEA looks very intriguing. It's a leave-in pre-hair wash mask designed to help strengthen and repair damaged locks. (Oh, and in case you missed it, this is Rita Ora's haircare brand!)
Grown Alchemist On-The-Go Essentials, $49.
Two of my other cool weather must-haves are a hard-working lip balm and a you-beaut hand cream. This fab pack has both (and more): it features minis of Grown Alchemist's Restorative Hand Cream and Hydra-Restore Day Cream, plus a full-size Hydra-Restore Lip Balm.
This lip balm is the bee knees — with shea butter, rosehip oil and a subtle scent of vanilla and watermelon, it keeps your lips hydrated while mentally taking you back to warmer days. These are all perfectly handbag-sized for convenient on-the-go hydration.
