Ada Nicodemou's ex-husband shares a deeply emotional post about their son.

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou and Chrys Xipolitas reportedly separated in November last year.

While Nicodemou has chosen to remain quiet in discussing the separation, Xipolitas has opened up on social media this week, sharing the difficulties he is facing in adjusting to co-parenting.

In an emotional Instagram post, Xipolitas said, “It isn’t the way we planned it to be.”

It’s obviously going to take a while to get use to.. I haven’t stopped thinking of this kid since i dropped him to his mum this morning. I end up counting down the days, hours and minutes till our next visit. Today i saw something about gratitude somewhere. And how we should be grateful for the things we have. I thank the universe/god/whoever for blessing me with this most precious gift. He aint great with the phone, he is to easily distracted.. I love the excitement he has in his face and in his voice when he hears you arrive to pick him up.. it is one of the best feelings ever. Instead of being sad when I drop him off, I’m happy knowing how excited he is to see his mum. It isnt the way we planned it to be, we can only make the most of a not so ideal scenario.. Im grateful that I am a dad. I love my kids to bits. #myboy #mylilgirl #mylife #myworld #myeverything #family #love #foreverinmyheart

Xipolitas says he counts the minutes he is away from three-year-old Johnas. But while being away from his son is undoubtedly difficult, it has provided an opportunity for reflection and gratitude.

Xipolitas is thanknful for the quality time he does get to spend with Johnas. “He aint great with the phone,” he says. “He is to easily distracted.” So the one on one time they have together is all the more important.

Xipolitas appears determined to make the best out of his parenting situation, saying that “Instead of being sad when I drop him off, I’m happy knowing how excited he is to see his mum.”

The post ended on an emotional note, with Xipolitas saying his relationship with Nicodemou “isn’t the way we planned it to be.”

The post received comments of support, but in a recent interview with Woman’s Day, a source said Ada Nicodemou would not be happy with her ex-husband’s decision to share his emotions publicly.

“(Ada) won’t be happy (Chrys) is being so open on social media,” the source said.

“They both love Johnas so much and Chrys really does take ownership of his parenting duties,” they continued. “But it’s just a question of two people doing things in two very different ways.”
