One of my favourite trends to come out of social media has been the hype over building a capsule wardrobe. Whenever I open up my TikTok #fyp and go down that rabbit hole (as we do), I almost always see a video on the importance of sustainability when it comes to the world of fashion. In fact, at the time of writing #capsulewardrobe has garnered over 707.3 million views on the app.

So naturally, as a fashion content creator myself, this has influenced me to become educated on the importance of maximising wear out of my pieces for longevity, as well as adopt a #reweardontcare mentality.

I’m far from perfect but I pride myself on being a far more conscious shopper than I once was, and investing in pieces that I genuinely love, cherish and can see myself styling time after time again. My current rotation includes a chilli necklace and matching earrings that I wear almost every day. Not only are they cute and make me feel like “me”, regardless if I’m in a corporate setting or out with my mates, but the chillies also happen to be an omen representing good luck.

I am very much in the camp “more is more.” So for me when it comes to my capsule wardrobe, as much as I rate having neutral basics, what I love even more is styling bold, statement pieces.

Dad sneakers are elite and you can’t change my mind. I, for one, love opting for my pair whenever I am wanting to style a more casual day to day look. They are a secret weapon to have on standby in your capsule wardrobe as you never know when you are going to need that stylist comfort in your fits. One of my fav transeasonal ways to style these puppies is with straight legged jeans, a t-shirt and a sweater vest.

Hoops have the ability to elevate any outfit to chic-tier level. It also doesn't matter what size they are. They are perfect for everyday styling. 

Life hack 101: Whenever I am having a bad hair day for work I often opt for slicking back my hair in a bun, add my fav gold hoops and I automatically feel more put together.
