The ad for the 2017 Grammys is different in the best possible way.
In one minute and 11 seconds of beautiful, empowering imagery of young girls doing kick ass things, the words of Taylor Swift’s 2016 acceptance speech are recited.
“I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments, or your fame.
“But if you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people sidetrack you – some day, when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know, it was you.
“[It was you] and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
The advert by TBWA/Chiat/Day includes girls of all colours, ages and sizes as they chase their dreams in dance, music, sport and the performing arts.
It ends with the words “Believe in music. Believe in you.”
The Grammys ceremony takes place on Sunday, Feb. 12. And we couldn’t be more excited.
Cut the crap.
