The parents of Luke Shambrook have shared some beautiful photos.

These are the pictures we needed to see today.

The parents of Luke Shambrook have thanked everyone who helped find their son and shared some beautiful pictures of their family, 48-hours after a moving reunion.

Watch: The moment 11-year-old Luke Shambrook was found alive.

The 11-year-old was missing for five days over the Easter weekend after he wandering away from a camping ground at Lake Eildon in Victoria on Good Friday.

With so many awful tragedies in the news today, it is a relief to read a story with a happy ending and these pictures have given us back some hope.

Luke’s mother Rachel described the sleepless nights and stress of looking for her son and offered her “immense thanks” for those who kept up the search as hopes began to fade.

She put her son’s survival down to his resilience, love of the bush and the prayer’s of many.

“He’s just shown us a side of him that we knew was there, his resilience has just blown us away,” she told the ABC.

She said she felt a “desperate urgency” to kiss her son when he was found on Tuesday.

“I just wanted to connect with him. He hadn’t been around for five days and I was like, I’ve just got to reach out to my boy,” she said.

Luke is recovering in the Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne. We wish the family all the best.
