Police have called off the search for a pair of teenage girls missing in Indiana after two bodies were found less than a kilometre from their last known whereabouts.
Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German, both 13, were dropped off by family for a hike at Monon High Bridge east of Delphi on Monday, and posted a number of photos from the picturesque location soon after, according to Fox 59 News.
They were supposed to be collected from the same bridge, but never showed up.

Worried family members tried to get in touch with the two girls but their phones either ran out of battery or were switched off.
Just one hour after authorities reported them missing in the media, a pair of bodies were found in nearby Deer Creek.
Liberty posted a final image of Abigail to her Snapchat account before the pair were reported missing.

Why were no adults with them??? They were THIRTEEN. No sane adult lets their kids wander around the bush with no adult supervision at that age!!! Snakes, bitey things, and creepy assholes are out there!!! Has everyone forgotten what happened at Belangalo????????
They are in America so I am fairly sure they have no idea what happened at Belangalo
This is a terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to the family. But Danica, thirteen is old enough to walk to school, swim at a pool unattended, catch a bus. Random foul play by the rare individual is not a good enough reason to wrap young adults in cotton wool and never let them out of our sight. We want to raise well rounded children who identify and competently handle risk. Fearfulness and paranoia is no good for anyone's mental health.
Yes but I guess hiking in a wilderness area is a bit different to catching a public bus, or swimming in a public pool, I wouldn't let my girls hike alone at that age.
What happened to them was likely caused by a human. That had nothing to do with the wilderness and could happen anywhere: Local park, school bus, swimming pool, mall toilet for instance.
God, how awful. Parents of teenagers must worry about their kids non stop, but you'd expect them to be safe on a simple hike.
