Margot Robbie's beach babe to vamp transformation

Aussie actress Margot Robbie has landed smack-bang in the heart of Hollywood, following her role as “The Duchess” Naomi Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street.

Thanks in no small part to a nude scene that made full-grown adult film critics titter like pre-pubescent school boys, Australia’s new favourite expat made the leap from Gold Coast girl to LA starlet seem completely effortless.

However, if you’re a Neighbours fan (own it; this is a judgement-free zone), you’ll have fond memories of a teenaged Margot playing the “ditzy, but kind-hearted” Donna Freedman.

Between 2008 and 2011, Donna was a TV magazine favourite. The character made headlines for everything from an on-screen wedding (to which she wore a pink gown and arrived in a police car) to an ‘I kissed a girl’ moment with an exchange student. Quelle scandale.

Remember this?

Off-screen, Margot’s red carpet beauty look was fairly simple. She appeared at local industry events looking fresh-faced, beachy and sun-kissed, which suited her vibe – but had nothing on the looks she’s pulling out these days.

Just this year Margot has walked the red carpet at every major event from the Academy Awards to the Met Gala, cementing her status as a bona fide star. Although she’s only 23 (yes – that’s 23) this popular expat brings her beauty game every time, especially now she’s swapped her creamy blonde hair for a darker colour.

Whether she’s teaming fierce brows with smoky eyes, or offsetting her new chocolate hair colour with dark lipsticks that Lorde would approve of, Margot’s makeup repertoire is giving us a serious case of the swoons.

So how exactly did Leonardo DiCaprio’s leading lady get from Ramsay Street to Wall Street and Hollywood Boulevard? Check out her beauty transformation over the years (and pay close attention to the evolution of those excellent brows).
