Intimate details of the Kim Kardashian robbery revealed: it's worse than we first imagined.

It’s hard to image what Kim Kardashian West went through when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Monday. Sketchy details have been published by news outlets around the world, but now TMZ claims to have spoken to sources that know exactly what occurred inside that hotel room.

The reality TV star was in the French capital attending Fashion Week with her mother and sisters when five masked intruders burst into their luxury hotel, detained the concierge, then bound her, gagged her and stole up to $14 million worth of mobile phones and jewellery.

According to the popular gossip sight, the entire incident lasted just six terrifying minutes.

“Our sources say … Kim was lying in bed with only her robe on when she heard boots pounding up the stairs of her 2 story apartment. We’re told Kim saw at least one masked man and another wearing a police hat through a sliding glass door,” reports TMZ.

“She knew something was amiss, so she rolled off the bed and tried dialling her bodyguard on her cell phone. Before she could finish dialling one of the men yanked the phone out of her hands.”

The 35-year-old’s bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, was reportedly with Kardashian’s sisters Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie at the time of the attack.

“They zip tied her hands with plastic handcuffs and duct taped her to make it more secure. We’re told one of the men grabbed her by the ankles,” the TMZ account continued.

“Kim told cops at that point she believed she was about to be raped. The robbers duct taped her ankles, picked her up and put her in the bathtub. She then started screaming … begging them not to kill her because she had babies.”

Kardashian reportedly then offered the intruders money and told them they could take any of her possessions, however they appeared not to speak English.

“The only thing she understood … the men kept saying, ‘ring, ring’. Kim knew what they were after — the new (US$4m) ring she got from Kanye. She told them where it was in the apartment, but that was not the end. Kim continued to beg and cry, and at that point the robbers duct taped her mouth shut.”

None of Kardashian West's family were present at the time. But according to TMZ, her friend Simone was sleeping in the downstairs bedroom.

"Simone heard the commotion and locked herself in the bathroom and called Pascal, the bodyguard, and [Kim's sister] Kourtney ... telling them to hurry back because something was terribly wrong," the site reports.

"Pascal got back to the apartment 2 minutes after the robbers left."

The mother of two's husband, Kanye West, and their two children, North, 3, and nine-month-old Saint had remained in the US, where the rapper performed at a New York music festival.

He was alerted to the incident in the middle of his performance, and cancelled the remainder of his set.

French authorities are still on the hunt for those responsible.
