In ridiculously sad celebrity news, it’s been confirmed that Packed to the Rafters co-stars and real-life engaged couple Jessica Marais and James Stewart have decided to separate.

The couple, who have been engaged for five years and have a daughter together, are now focusing on co-parenting three-year-old Scout.

Rumours around the separation began to circulate earlier this week amid stories that the 30-year-old Love Child actress Marais and Stewart held separate birthday parties for their daughter. Now it has been confirmed.

“Jessica Marais and James Stewart have amicably separated. Their main focus at this time is the co-parenting of their daughter and they ask that media respect their privacy,” the statement, released by the pair’s management, said.

Jess and James met on the set of Rafters in 2009, announced their engagement in 2011 and were expecting a baby by 2012.
