The Bachelorette's Jarrod has responded to viewers calling him a 'stage five clinger'.

Everyone’s favourite ‘stage five clinger’ says he’s not such a Creepy McCreep after all.

The Bachelorette’s Jarrod Woodgate told Confidential that his portrayal on the show has given people the wrong idea about him.

Wait, what? You mean producers on a reality TV show have deliberately crafted a narrative to make someone appear crazier than they really are?

“People have an idea that I am a little creepy because of what I’ve been doing and how full on I’ve been,” he told Confidential.

“I wear my heart on my sleeve and as soon as a guy starts to show emotion, he becomes creepy and possessive and I’m actually just trying to be a genuine loving caring guy that Sophie wants.”

Woodgate says when he finds a girl he’s interested in he will “move mountains” to be that guy for her.

The 31-year-old vineyard manager says his family and friends are concerned that they’re not seeing the real Jarrod on the show.

“This is my first opportunity where I’ve found myself ready (to settle down) and it just happens to be on national TV, but this is what it took for me to become a better person and finally know how to let people in.”

The Bachelorette hopeful says he’s been receiving some negative comments on social media so he’s outsourced his Instagram to his sister and he’s asked that people private message him rather than leave abusive messages on his page that his nieces and nephews could see.

“That’s the only thing I want ask. If you do have an issue, private message me, I don’t care. You can say whatever you want to me in a private message but do not put it up on Instagram,” he told Confidential.

So Jarrod might just be a stage four or stage three clinger after all.
