There’s definitely a resemblance there.

Quick-witted king of breakfast television Karl Stefanovic shared a rare emotional moment online yesterday.

Posting a photo of himself alongside teenaged son Jackson to Instagram, the 

Today show host wrote: “My little bloke not so little. Off to the school formal. Daddy crying.”

The sweet sentiment drew more than 6,000 likes in just a few hours, and was deemed “cute” and “adorable” by a few of Karl’s many online fans.

But for the most part, commenters on the photo seemed to want to talk about one thing, and one thing only: Jackson’s striking resemblance to his uncle Peter.

“Wow he looks like Pete,” wrote karinaleonello.

“Wow, a blonde Uncle Pete!” agreed yogabel22.

“Thanks for Uncle Petes Genes DAD,” weighed in robynemwilliams.

One or two commenters bravely suggested 16-year-old Jackson looked like his father — “Awwww what a cutie. Looks like his daddy,” wrote karenmatthews70 — but others quickly set them straight.

He looks more like PETE,” wrote lcalcutt9.

“Two peas in a pod, so much uncle Pete…thats not a bad thing,” agreed just_add_ice.

As this photographic evidence makes clear, a fondness for pink run in the family — so it’s no wonder Jackson could be mistaken for either of them in his salmon-coloured formal tie:  

Jackson also shares Peter’s thick hair and slim nose, although all three Stefanovic men ave similar eyes and cheeky smiles.

Jackson, who turned 16 in August, is the oldest of 41-year-old Karl’s three children with wife Cassandra Thornburn: The two youngest are seven-year-old River and nine-year-old Ava.

Both Karl and 28-year-old Peter — who is dating Karl’s Today show co-host Sylia Jeffreys — intermittently post photos of Karl’s kids on Instagram.
