I'm a Celebrity stars reunite with loved ones and the entire nation is crying.

Of all the adjectives you could choose, “tear-jerking” probably isn’t the one you’d use to describe I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

Sure, the reality show has its occasional emotional moments, but usually we’re too busy gagging in empathy as we watch the stars scoffing down impala testicles (or whatever vile tucker trial is dumped in front of them).

However, if social media is anything to go by, Sunday night’s episode had the entire nation sobbing into their couch cushions.

Listen: This week’s biggest TV news is on The Binge. (Post continues after audio.)

After six weeks of having cockroaches dropped on their heads and eating beans for dinner every night, the four remaining celebrities were treated to surprise reunions with their loved ones.

Dane Swan’s girlfriend was the first unexpected visitor to drop in:

Then Casey Donovan bumped into her mum as she walked into the diary room:

Nazeem Hussain took a while to notice his beloved wife sitting on a rock near the stars’ camp site:

However, the most outwardly emotional reunion came from Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who immediately burst into tears upon seeing her husband and two adorable kids in the jungle:

The singer/actress wasn’t the only one whose eyes welled up.

It seems the whole of Australia was reaching for the tissues as they watched on from the comfort of their lounge rooms — and they weren’t even ashamed to admit it.

Although the family reunions clearly struck an emotional chord with I’m a Celebrity fans, they haven’t surpassed what is most certainly the most tear-jerking moment in the show’s Aussie history.

You know the one we’re talking about: when Chrissie Swan’s son Leo crept up on her (“…Mum?”) as she sat quietly in the campsite during the 2015 finale.

We're still not over it, to be honest. (Channel 10)

Chrissie sobbed, and we ugly-cried along with her. And it seems we're not the only ones who haven't quite moved past it...

It's OK. We won't tell anyone you cried over a reality show.

Did you cry? Go on. Be truthful.
