The Instagram trick that will make sure you never have to see a boring story again.

Having been introduced to our accounts just under two months ago, people have taken to Instagram Stories like ducks to video-loving water. The problem is, though, some people’s stories just aren’t all that interesting.

Linked to the account of someone you’re already following, the stories run for up to ten seconds and are basically like Snapchat without the flattering filters.

The problem is, though, some people’s stories just aren’t all that interesting.

Capturing the runway looks live from New York Fashion Week we get, but snapping your sneakers while you go to get coffee, not so much.

So without further ado, here’s how to get those snoozy stories out of your life without unfollowing the account. For the sake of universal ease, we’ll use Kourtney Kardashian’s account as our example.

Step 1: Find the person whose story you wish to block in the stories bar at the top of the Instagram homepage.

Step 2: Hold down on the user's story icon until a list of options pops up at the bottom of the screen. Select 'Mute kourtneykardash's story'.

And just like that, you're done! The dark days of snooze stories are officially over for you.

But if for some reason your decision haunts you and you decide that you need those stories back in your life, here's how to unmute.

Step 1: Find the person whose story you've previously muted. It will be at the very end of the stories bar at the top of the Instagram homepage.
