Voulez-Vous: A man. A broomstick. A bunch of balloons. And some serious photoshop.

We’ve just found our spirit animal.

Welcome to Mamamia’s art endeavour, the Voulez-Vous Project. Every week we celebrate emerging artists, designers, illustrators, creators and cats who dress like their owners (not joking). Our aim: to help the internet become a slightly more beautiful, captivating, or thought-provoking place by making art accessible.

“I would like to travel all over the world on my broom”.

Seems like a pretty standard dream, right? This slightly bizarre/very far-fetched statement is the basis of a photography project by a guy called Halno. He’s been dubbed the Japanese Harry Potter because he creates magical-looking photos of himself riding a broomstick around the world. Seriously.

Halno has created a movement of wannabe flyers just like himself – he’s racked up over 250,000 Instagram followers and gives flying lessons to his fans.

“To create your own copycat version of the ‘flying broomstick’, it is important to bend the legs, and make sure you perfect your facial expression, no excitement needed!” he said.

“Just remember to be interesting, and different from other people. Amateur photos of food and clothing are boring, don’t you think? You can fly on anything, not just a broomstick. Be creative!”

His dream is simple – to live around the world on his broomstick. Image via @halno on Instagram.

In his 400 posts, he’s flown his broomstick in pretty much every scenario you can think of. Through an alleyway. Up in the sky. While holding a bunch of balloons. Under a plane. Over the ocean. Through the snow.

There’s really not much else to say about it except: this guy is our spirit animal and a genius.

Keep doing your thing, Halno.
