The voters have spoken. And after a big night of endless performances, we have our X factor winner for 2014.
And it’s…
Marlisa Punzalan!
Looking back at the final three, it was a close call between the contestants.
The 15-year-old Filipino contestant, Marlisa Punzalan was with mentor Ronan Keating; she originally auditioned with the Beatles song Yesterday, and her grand final performance was a duet with Jessica Mauboy.
Runner-up Dean Ray is a singer & songwriter with a dark past. His mentor is Natalie Bassingthwaighte. At the grand final, he performed with Olly Murs, singing “Dear Darlin.”
And finishing in third place was Brothers3, a gang of teenage brothers who play their own instruments; they performed Taylor Swift’s “Safe and Sound” with Guy Sebastian at the finale, with their mentor, Dannii Minogue, praising them for a job well done.
