The 7 best moments from this year's Emmy Awards.

So The Emmys just happened.

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmys is the biggest night in TV, and it’s done and dusted for 2015.

So what happened on this night of nights? Should we care about anything other than Heidi Klum’s Big Bird dress?

We have the answers to all of those deep questions and more. Here are our top moments from this year’s Emmys.

1. Viola Davis’s acceptance speech for her Best Actress in a Drama gong for How To Get Away With Murder.

Viola Davis made history as the first black woman to win the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama.

“In my dreams and visions, I seemed to see a line, and on the other side of that line were green fields, and lovely flowers, and beautiful white ladies, who stretched out their arms to me over the line, but I couldn’t reach them no-how,” Davis said, quoting Harriet Tubman.

2. Amy Schumer’s win for Inside Amy Schumer.

This is the first year the category of Comedy Variety Show has existed. The other nominees were Drunk History, Portlandia, Saturday Night Live and Key & Peele, but Schumer was a shoo in.

She thanked everyone who’s helped her along the way, including the make-up girl who gave her a great smoky eye. “I really like it,” she said.

“We care so much about this show,” said Schumer, who usually refrains from showing genuine emotion.

“I almost made a stupid sex talk show that nobody wanted, and [head writer Jessi Klein] got drunk and told me that I had to follow my dreams and make my dream show.”

Thank god Klein got drunk that night.

Backstage when asked if she’d forgotten to thank anyone, Schumer said her niece Ida. “She’s 19 months old and we have the exact same body.”

3. Director Jill Soloway and actor Jeffrey Tambor advocating for trans rights during their speeches.

Jill Soloway won the Emmy for outstanding Directing of a Comedy Series for Transparent and used her stage time to discuss trans rights in the US and urge people to vote for the trans equality bill.

The star of the show, Jeffrey Tambor, also used his stage time to support the trans community.

“Thank you for your patience, thank you for your courage, thank you for your stories, thank you for your inspiration,” he said.

“Thank you for letting us be part of the change.”

4. Amy Poehler and everything she does.

Poehler lost to the awesome Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the Best Actress in a Comedy and pretended to sleep through her speech… but really, she won.

5. Kerry Washington telling it like it is.

Ryan Seacrest asked Kerry Washington who she was wearing on the red carpet, but she flipped the script and asked who HE was wearing. Seems like she might have played right into his hands, though, since, as he explained, he was wearing “himself”.

How meta.

Jimmy Kimmel had an interesting take on it: “You’re wearing yourself? That’s like masturbating.”

6. Tracy Morgan gets back in the saddle.

Tracy Morgan was involved in a really awful car accident last year that left him badly injured. Only recently, we’ve been seeing flashes of the old Tracy Morgan coming back.

“I suffered a traumatic brain injury that put me in a coma for eight days. When I finally regained consciousness, I was just ecstatic to learn that I wasn’t the one who messed up,” he said.

7. Game of Thones making history.

This show just won 12 Emmys — that’s a record. Peter Dinklage won for Best Actor in a Drama, and then the show took out the big one: Best Drama.
