Famous-friend-haver Taylor Swift has really outdone herself this time.

We thought it was pretty incredible when Taylor Swift got Julia Roberts strutting on her stage. We were blown away when Uzo Aduba and Mary J Blige duetted with her on the same night. We were impressed with her legion of supermodel pals.

None could compete with the blazing fame of that star-spangled pop-star, though, until Ellen DeGeneres appeared. She was never going to just get up there and just do her patented white-girl dancing. The comedian decided to really live her pop-star moment.

“Los Angeles, please make some noise,” Swift said, “For international pop superstar Ellen DeGeneres!”

DeGeneres appeared in her own special sequinned costume, a slightly more modest version of Swift’s own.

But you oughta know that last night, Alanis Morissette joined the

girl gang leader

singer for

her initiation ceremony

a song.

Unfortunately, this glorious duet wasn’t greeted with the unadulterated joy and ecstasy it should have been.

Teens, amiright?

Mostly because teenagers are stupid, but also because many of them don’t know who Alanis Morissette is.

This is understandable considering that her magnum opus, Jagged Little Pill, was released 20 years ago, when Swift herself was just five years old and many of her pubescent fans were merely a gleam in their Gen X slacker parents’ weed-red eyes.

Swift herself was effusive in her praise of Morissette’s performance.

“Tonight. ‘You Oughta Know’. @Alanis,” she tweeted. “I don’t know how to process how amazing she was. Just absolutely magnificent.”
