Brenda lays the smack down.

In the 1990s, Shannen Doherty had a reputation for being difficult to work with.

She was written out of 90210 in 1994 for allegedly carrying on like a diva (her character Brenda moved to London to study drama. Oh those whacky writers…).

And then her character Prue was killed off on Charmed in 2001 (after briefly being played by a white dog. The writers! Again with the laughs!), also for crimes against kindness.

Well, fans will be pleased to know that time has not dulled Shannon Doherty ‘s blade.

This week, she has taken a swipe at Jason Priestly’s memoir, A Memoir (note: she did not have a go at the title).

It was less playful than this.

In his memoir, Priestley who played Doherty’s brother Brandon on Beverly Hills 90201 recalled a number of incidents involving Doherty that were, well, less than flattering.

In particular, he recounted a day when the network had sent a private jet to fly the two to New York. Priestley said:

He continued: “But that was just the beginning. I looked on, becoming more uneasy by the minute as she began bitching about the short notice and the food on board and the temperature in the cabin and everything else.”

Not awkward at all.

Now this description does not accord with Shannen’s recollection at all.

In fact, she knows it is untrue.

Why?

Because she hates limos. They’re gross.

In an interview with Jenny Hutt, Shannen Doherty not only slammed Jason Priestley’s memoir, she suggested his work was a piece of fiction because he had damaged his brain in a car accident (Priestly had a near fatal accident in 2002 and sustained head and spine injuries when he crashed his race car into a wall during an Indy car race while going 180 mph.)

She said:

And on totally gross limos:

Jeez, get it right, Priestley. I mean, plenty of other people have said that Doherty was mean during her 90210 years, but you’ve probably just mixed her up with someone else. Because of your broken brain.

Unsurprisingly, Shannen has said no to any future 90210 reunions.

Probably because she’d have to ride in a limo. And, you know, GROSS.
