The Emmys happened.

Famous television people were there and also, inexplicably, so was Julia Roberts. They wore dresses. They said things. They won things. They kissed each other.

The whole thing went for hours, though. So we’ve handpicked the only moments that truly mattered. Starting with the best / most ridiculous.

1. When Bryan Cranston ambushed Julia Louis Dreyfus with this passionate comedian kiss on her way to accept HER FIFTH EMMY.

2. And when he made the ultimate smug post-kiss face with his perfect moustache.

3. When host Seth Meyers introduced Amy Poehler just as she requested.

4. When Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson confirmed their status as world’s best bromance.

With this sweet little exchange from them on stage: MATTHEW: “I said, ‘Woody, you always seem to keep it pretty cool, what do you do when you got a problem or conflict come up in your life?’ Being my good friend, he thinks about it for a minute, he lowers his head for about 15 or 20 seconds, he looks back up at me, looks right in my eyes…right into my soul and says, ‘I just forget about it.'”

WOODY: “It works, it really does work,” Harrelson laughs. “I wanna offer that to all of you.”

5. Billy Crystal remembered his dear and brilliant friend, Robin Williams.

6. When Aaron Paul demonstrated what husbandly love looks like.

7. When Sarah Silverman was almost definitely stoned doing her red carpet interview. No really, she showed Guiliana Rancic her pot.

8. When she ran onto the stage with no shoes on, presumably because she’s stoned. Definitely because she’s excellent.
