But apparently, there’s a reason why celebrities always drape their coats on their shoulders, rather than, you know, putting their arms through the… arms.
It’s a trend that surfaces every northern Winter and it even has a name – “shoulder-robing”.
The point of it, according to style gurus like Anna Wintour, is to look both very busy and – depressingly – slim. Because nothing adds bulk like a… bulky coat.
The other thing that makes shoulder-robing A Thing, according to The Guardian, is that it’s difficult.
If your coat drapes too much, you might as well wear the damn thing. If it’s barely on the shoulders, it will fall off.

I have enough trouble keeping jackets/coats/cardigans on my shoulders while wearing them properly as I have sloped shoulders. There is no way this trend would work for me
