Why Gwyneth Paltrow won't be at the Met Gala tomorrow night.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Well, for fashion and celebrity watchers anyway.

Off the back of the awards season buzz, tomorrow night, the first Monday of May (for the US), famous faces and bodies will grace the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art fashion exhibit with the Costume Institute Gala.

To remind yourself of last year’s fashion, click through the gallery below. Post continues after gallery.

Never one to miss a photo op, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will probably be there. Vogue Editor Anna Wintour will show up in her signature shades and Sarah Jessica Parker will wow us with another Carrie Bradshaw-approved creation.

Yet, there’s one celebrity who definitely won’t be there.

Our favourite GOOP-ie, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Morning ????

Yep, that’s right, the 43-year-old has “sworn” off the Met Gala and has promised to “never go back again”.

“I’m never going again. It was so un-fun,” the Shakespeare in Love actress told USA Today. “It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.”

We get it , we get it. For $25,000 a ticket, you don’t exactly want to spend the entire evening being uncomfortable.

Gwyneth, babe, here are five reasons why you should consider attending:

1. You get to wear a really fun outfit.  What other night of the year do you have the opportunity to do this? Plus this year’s theme is ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology‘, and that sounds like a jolly good time.

2. You get to mingle with like-minded (read: Famous) people.  Pretty much every other famous person in America is going to be there, so this will be a great opportunity to spread the word far and wide about whatever GOOP you’re into.

3. You might be involved in a *gasp* scandal.

Add some spice to your life. Who could ever forget the Beyonce/Jay Z/Solange Knowles elevator fight of 2014?

4. You could have the opportunity to go down in history and be voted ‘worst dressed of 2016’.

Like Sarah Jessica Parker was last year.

5. You might actually enjoy yourself.

Look, it might be "too hot" and "too crowded" but if you wear a lightweight dress and immerse yourself in the evening, you never know how much fun you might have.
