The proposal brides didn't know they had to make

Just when you thought the wedding trends for 2014 couldn’t get any crazier, brides are now the ones proposing…

You remember it like it was yesterday: the man of your dreams got down on one knee and said those perfect words: ‘will you marry me” and, you said ‘YES!’ and thus began the wedding planning

If you’re one of the lucky ones, your hubby helped plan your special day with a smile on his face and piles of cash in his hands. Unfortunately, for most brides this wasn’t the case.

Luckily, you probably had trusty bridesmaids to help you out along the way. But can you remember how you asked those special girlfriends to walk down the aisle with you?

If it was as simple as asking “Will you be my Bridesmaid?” then you’ll be grateful you’re not getting married this year, because brides-to-be today are taking this duty to a whole other level – they’re proposing to their bridesmaids…

Here are some of our favourite ways brides are ‘proposing’ to their bridesmaids in 2014:

The Trendy Bride

Yes, you also get to propose with that little enviable blue Tiffany box. Who could say no?

The DIY Bride

For the DIY'er in all of us, get crafty and make a 'be my bridesmaid' proposal box of goodies. Sometimes bribery is the only way to snag a bridesmaid.

The Funny Bride

No shame here ladies. At some point during your big day you will have to go to the toilet and trust me, it will be your bridesmaids who take on the dress-lifting duties. Honesty and humour will get you the 'yes' you so desperately want.

The elegant Rose` sipping Bride

Because let's face it, no one will get through your special day without wine. Especially if your bridesmaids have a Bride-zilla on their hands.

The Sweet Bride

Show you really care and bake some 'be my bridesmaid' cookies. They'll be screaming their 'yes's covered in sugar-coated crumbs.

How did you 'propose' to your bridesmaids? Do you think this trend is taking things too far?
