Writer, academic, co-host of The Project and Gold Logie winner Waleed Aly is one of Australia’s most likable personalities. And just when we didn’t think it was possible, the mutli-talented 37-year-old has surprised us yet again.
Over the weekend, Aly attended the Reclink Community Cup, a charity event which pits musicians and broadcasters against each other to raise money for disadvantaged Australians.
But, of course, Aly isn’t your typical broadcaster with a sub-par knowledge of music. Oh no. It turns out he can add ‘rock God’ to his already impressive CV.

Anyone else not a fan. I find him arrogant and smug. So predictably head in the sand PC he makes me yawn.
Oh Chillax :( I think he's great. Should be more like him around!
Gotta disagree, I think he seems like a pretty good guy. I do think that people can really jump on the sycophant train when it comes to fawning all over him, but I don't personally see anything too terrible about the guy.
Bolt and Ali and different sides of the same coin, both doing their thing. I know it's mind blowing for the political types around here but I agree with both on some issues and disagree with both on some issues.
Onya Chillax, arrogant and smug - good call.
